What a fantastic week we just had! Last week we had visits and presentations from our Lieutenant Governor Steven Point, pop singing sensation Inez, and Science World. As well, our Grade 1 teachers hosted a very well attended Literacy Night complete with story time, cookies, and hot chocolate.
This week things have returned to a more normal pace, with sports being more on the forefront. Our volleyball teams competed this week at the District Tournament both doing well. Our Boys played on Monday afternoon and our Girls played on Wednesday. Thank you to Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Harnett and Mr. Gregory for coaching! As well, the finals for Intramural Handball were played this week with the Green and Yellow teams battling it out for Gold in both the Primary and Intermediate Divisions.
Our school has also jumped to the aid of the earthquake victims in Haiti. Until February 15th, we will be collecting coins to send off to Red Cross to help in the rebuilding efforts. 1 point-per-cent will be awarded to the house team of the students who donate.
On a final note, by the time the March newsletter is printed – I should be updating everyone on the exact details of our new school. Stay tuned!
